hello, I need some help with my chainsaw that I've owned since late 99 to early 2000. I may not even be on the correct forum but anyways here's my story. Ever since the day I purchased this poulan 16" it has done a good job for all the it is. Over the years I've attempted to sharpen chain with file but never good master and would take it to a shop and have them do it. After many years of faithful service the chain bar split and needed replaced. Whenever chain replacement was required I used Oregon with no problems and so I purchased an Oregon bar but now instead of using threaded screw to tightened chain there is a cammed slot that moves bar. Oh I failed to mention that I did purchase an Oregon Jig that mounts onto bar so my file will hold correct angles and was able to sharpen my chain now. Anyways ever since replacing original bar with this Oregon bar I'm having a hard time keeping my saw cutting straight If I can get it to cut at all. Found that i'm having to file rackers down further than I ever had. I can take a brand new chain and after two to three passes it acts as if its dull? File cutters with jig set-up and better but not that great, take down rackers and it'll cut for a few passes and then I'm right back to where I started. I can't believe replaceing bar with something that not identical to original would cause me so many problems. seems as though I can't keeping an edge on this thing. Yesterday was trying to cut and watching chain and so long as I move saw up and down and a couple of jiggles left to right it would eventually get through a 12" log. wants to get pinched if I don't.... took a looked at chain drive sprocket and it appears to be in pretty bad shape... would a worn out chain drive sprocket make a saw not cut properly? I'm thinking it chain enters drive crooked and leaves crooked, chain bar is basically only a guide and can only do so much and if chain is flopping even a new bar won't corrects this I've tryed. I hope this makes sense because I'm at a lose on what else could be the problem. As stated after getting jig I was able to sharpen chains, just after replaceing bar it started having this problem and this wasn't an immediate problem like same day but within the first six to eight weeks...Thanks
